This hotel is an absolute gem, fabulous location, friendly, helpful staff, food excellent, could not fault it, even the weather was good for our short stay. Would recommend it to anyone - we will be back!

Room was very well decorated (Bachelor) and in keeping with the style of house. We had a lovely stay, staff were excellent and the Lodge itself is set in beautiful grounds, great views.
Most reviews concentrate on the food and the reason is because it is excellent! The menu is a taster menu - 6 or so courses, all quite small portions but beautifully prepared and served impeccably. £50 a head isn't cheap but if you have a 3 course meal anywhere you could be looking at £40-£50 so I don't think it was that overpriced. I do think they would get more customers eating though if they offered an A'La Carte menu as well.
Breakfast was lovely. All in all we thought the hotel was really nice, very peaceful and would highly recommend a stay.

We have just returned from a 2-night stay here and it was truly wonderful. The location is magnificent, food excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. We booked Whin room and it was beautiful, views across the garden and the bay. This consisted of a lovely bedroom, sitting area with 2 armchairs and small settee and a large bathroom with separate shower. The bathroom amenities were by L'occitane and towels changed twice a day. Our only complaint - when you pay such high prices and there is no tea / coffee facilites in the rooms it seems a bit of a cheek to charge £5 for 2 cups of tea brought to your room in the morning.
We walked the 5 miles cliff walk to Portpatrick and would highly recommend that - and we walked back again after a lunch in one of the local pubs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return again.
